Back in 1997, my parents, Ursula Loesch and Harry Mock, took a leap to preserve a piece of history, buying an old Italian estate with an attached chapel called San Giovanni. At the time, the estate was in serious need of renovation – literally a ruin. But with a lot of hard work, dedication, and attention to detail, they transformed this dilapidated property into a true gem.

For over two years, the estate was extensively restored and furnished in the typical Marche style. It was especially important to my parents to preserve the authentic atmosphere of the property. They consciously decided against standardized hotel furnishings, creating a home full of charm and personality instead. Every detail, from the interior decor to the outdoor areas, reflects the rich history and unique beauty of the region.

Over the past 25 years, Ursula and Harry have been more than just warm hosts; they've also built bridges between cultures. Many guests who initially came as customers became loyal friends. Some regular guests have been visiting the estate annually for a quarter of a century – a testament to how much my parents' dream has resonated with the property and its visitors. The family spirit they created remains the heart of this special place to this day.

But now, at over 70 years old, my parents are stepping into their well-deserved retirement. After a quarter-century of passion and hard work, it's time to pass the legacy on to the next generation. With pride and gratitude, I, their son, will take over responsibility for the estate starting in 2025, continuing it in my parents' spirit while also shaping it sustainably for the future.
